Mark C. Shaughnessy

Mark Shaughnessy brings a high level of industry experience to Toro Facilities Management with over three decades in construction management. As Executive Vice President, Mark handles any renovation or retrofitting projects for Toro Facilities Management as well as executive administration. He has been instrumental in expanding the company’s niche in helping properties reach ADA compliance, and has secured numerous such contracts throughout Florida.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Building Construction from the University of Florida, and is a Certified Building Contractor, License No. CB-C026936. In community involvement, Mark serves on the Finance Committee of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, and is a board member and Commissioner of the Coconut Creek Youth Football League.

Upon Tom’s retirement in December 2014, Mark & Erin purchased the company from Tom and are now co-owners of Toro Engineering & Construction Corp./ Toro Facilities Management

Erin Shaughnessy Scacci

As Vice President of Toro Facilities Management, Erin Shaughnessy is responsible for project management and overseeing all client service operations including business development, maintenance work orders, and scheduling.

Erin first joined Toro Engineering and Construction in 1995 as Administrative Assistant. She left the firm to pursue and earn a Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology from the University of Florida in Gainesville, during which time she assisted at Shands at the University of Florida in the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Department. She was later employed as a Support Coordinator for the Florida Department of Children and Families, where she coordinated and monitored medical issues, employment, education, living needs and extracurricular activities for adults and children with disabilities.

Erin rejoined Toro Engineering and Construction Corp. in 2001 and was promoted to Vice President in 2002. Her extensive service experience and talent for coordination of multiple functions is a solid foundation for her supervisory role with Toro Facilities Management.

Thomas H. Shaughnessy

With a vision of providing construction services for industrial and commercial properties, Tom Shaughnessy formed Toro Engineering and Construction Corp. in December of 1973. As President, he oversees all operations of the construction firm as well as Toro Facilities Management. Prior to establishing the company, Tom served as Vice President of Engineered Facilities Construction Corp. of Fort Lauderdale, a design/builder of industrial facilities. He was also previously employed as a Construction Engineer with Snead Construction Corp.

Tom is a graduate of the University of Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Building Construction. In industry involvement, Tom is a Certified General Contractor, Unlimited Category, License No. CG-C001829. He is also a Certified General Contractor, Unlimited Category, in North Carolina. Toro Engineering and Construction Corp. is a member of CASF, the Construction Association of South Florida.

Tom’s community activities include serving as Vice Chairman of the Holy Cross Hospital Board of Trustees and on the Board of Trustees of the St. John Vianney College Seminary Board of Trustees. He also serves on the Parish Finance Committee of St. Andrew Catholic Church and is a former Board Member of the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council in New Haven, CT where he served for nine years.

Tom retired in December 2014, from Toro, the business he began in 1973. Tom & his wife, Mary (of almost 50 years), now enjoy spending time between Lake Placid, Florida & Ashe County, North Carolina. Where they are living out their dream of a peaceful retirement, together.
